Adult medical speech therapy involves the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders resulting from medical conditions such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological disorders.
We treat conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, dysphagia (swallowing disorders), voice disorders, and cognitive-communication impairments related to medical conditions.
Depending on your insurance plan, a referral from a doctor may be required. It is advisable to check with your insurance provider or contact our office for assistance.
During your first session, you will undergo a comprehensive evaluation where our speech-language pathologist will assess your communication and/or swallowing abilities. Based on this assessment, a customized treatment plan will be developed.

With the advancement in technology, it has become easier to conduct these kind of sessions online. As long as you have tested your audio and video quality, most goals can be effectively worked on using virtual care. All you need is an internet connection and a computer/laptop/mobile device with a camera and microphone.
We accept major credit cards, Visa debit cards, and zelle through our secure online payment
system. We ask that clients leave a credit card on file at the time of initial assessment; the card on
file will be charged for sessions/group fees per our Fee & Attendance policies.

At this time, SPI does not provide direct billing to insurance companies (except Medicare); our
billing relationship is with you. We provide an official therapy receipt for all sessions attended upon
payment. Clients with benefits for our therapy services may use this receipt to seek reimbursement
through your insurance provider/benefits plan.
Official therapy superbills are issued in the name of the client, and will reflect the service provided,
including session type (individual/group), duration, fee, and location (virtual or in clinic).
Clinical/Professional Services are provided upon request and include:
● preparation of external written reports (upon request)
● participation in professional meetings/consultations, including travel time if required
● all activities beyond those required to provide direct service
● Please speak with your SLP in advance to get an approximate estimate of the time required
for your Clinical/Professional Service requests. Fees are due prior to the release of written
reports.
Individual Sessions: payment is due at the time of service.
Group Programs: a deposit is required to reserve your space in the group; the balance is due one week before the group program begins. Installment payments may be arranged based on individual circumstances.
